One of jazz’s great innovators and equally fluent in both the bebop and fusion genres Brecker is known for his jazz fusion stints with Billy Cobham, Blood, Sweat & Tears, and in the Brecker Brothers with brother Michael. For decades following its opening in 1935, The Lex, as it’s called by locals and enthusiasts alike, was the place to be seen; business dealings, cocktail hours, and milestone celebrations were a regular occurrence for St. Paul socialites. Now, more than 80 years later, new owners have restored the restaurant. The new, elevated menu brings back supper club favorites along with new interpretations of classic dishes.
